This lighting project focusses on the main greenhouse, the terraces and the restaurants of the Center Parcs "Les 3 Forêts" located in Moselle, France. The challenge was to create the atmosphere of an outdoor night landscape, while at the same time meeting interior lighting standards, thereby contradicting the desired visual effect.
Careful choices of colour temperatures and contrasts, precise calculations, a choice of highly efficient low bollards and the use of gobo projectors reproducing textural effects through the foliage enabled us to create the illusion of an outdoor night landscape, while still meeting the minimum lighting levels required for circulation areas.
In the restaurants, we sought to achieve a luminance ratio that prioritised the lighting of the tables and then the decorative elements that surround them, creating islands of light around each table while enveloping them by accents and focal points balancing the contrasts and enriching the experience. We developed a bespoke metal pendant incorporating directional lighting towards the table and a more diffused indirect lighting revealing the faces of the guests in a softer way.
On the outdoor terraces, well-integrated spot accents and a light cove at the water's edge create a convivial atmosphere, an attractive play of reflections and an interesting visual base to the greenhouse as a whole in its night-time landscape.
