The lighting scheme for the Schaerbeek town hall, a listed building in the eclectic style of the 19th century, is based on a very subtle low-angled lighting that highlights the pilasters and numerous details, softened by a few low-power spotlights placed around the building.

Small, discreetly placed linear LED luminaires were used to modulate the light tones and intensities according to their location, the materials, dimensions and details of the various elements to be lit.

This lighting of details is softened by a more enveloping lighting, provided by low-power projectors mounted on the surrounding façades. These spotlights soften the contrasts between the lit details and the unlit parts. Their low wattage and anti-glare accessories greatly reduce their visibility and any discomfort that this lighting principle might cause.

A full-scale lighting test on the site allowed to adjust all the equipment and obtain the approval from the authorities.
